Desert Roses Belly Dance is a professional belly dance performing group in Singapore with established belly dancers and middle eastern musicians. We have performed in various venues in Singapore for Entertainment shows and Educational programs over the years.
We are now also running our own belly dance classes and drum classes in our Chinatown Studio to bring the fun to people and bring new belly dancers and drummers to the stage.

Educational Background:
Dance training (2002- 2006): Lily began her belly dance training in Singapore under established dancers Claribel Ng, Fiona Hoo (Desert Rhythm) and Belinda Tan (Sahara Sundance) and also received private training in Istanbul from internationally acclaimed dancer Hale Cakir.

Lily is a regular belly dancer for the musicians of Al-Bedouin Middle Eastern Music Ensemble Singapore, appearing with them in over 40 different venues. Lily has taken part in many of Al-Bedouin's educational programmes and has demonstrated the relationship (which includes teaching) between Middle Eastern dance and Middle Eastern rhythms in many of Singapore's primary and secondary schools as well as Republic Polytechnic and Singapore Management University.
Lily and the Drummers of the Nile (Al-Bedouin's student group) are regular fixtures of the Holistic Living Festival, having performed together for the last three Festivals. Other events at which Lily has performed include Mercure Roxy Park Hotel Appreciation Night, NUS Prince George's Park International Festival, Light Up Bishan, Toastmasters International Anniversary Dinner, Kampung Senang World Harmony Day Celebration, Embedded Systems Conference, (Faculty of Engineering, NUS), NUS Centennial Celebration, Toastmasters Christmas Party, Little India Utsav, Dance Connection Christmas Party, and performed on her own for the Nanyang Technological University Alumni Day.
In addition, Lily has performed at various functions at venues as varied as Singapore Swimming Club, Singapore Recreation Club, Tengah Air Base, Republic of Singapore Yacht Club, Raffles City, and Millennia Walk.
Lily also joined Al-Bedouin drummers and other dancers in the Vida Condominium television commercial.
Finally, Lily has also performed as a middle eastern percussionist; she helped conduct teambuilding workshops for such companies as IBM, OCBC as well as for 500 students at Nanyang Primary School, and performed as a drummer at the Pulses of the Northeast Festival in July 2004.
Lily has also performed as a salsa dancer at events such as the Junior Chamber International Operation hope Fundraiser, NUS Prince George's Park International Festival and Citigroup Latin Fiesta. She has also assisted teaching Salsa in GSS-NUS and in Philips, as well as some other private parties. She is also teaching Belly Dance/Salsa in NUS Prince Georges Park-international students hostel.
